The Alleviate Integrative Tinnitus Therapy Program was developed by Dr. Brian Worden after encountering thousands of patients in clinical practice suffering from intrusive tinnitus. Dr. Worden spent most of his childhood in Northern California. He attended the University of California, San Diego for his undergraduate studies and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. He then moved back to Northern California to attend medical school at the University of California, San Francisco. He extended his medical school studies so that he could spend one year performing research at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland through a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Upon graduation from medical school, he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Ear, Nose, and Throat) at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics, training under some of the most well-known ear specialists in the world. Since 2009, he has been a practicing Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat Specialist) in Southern California.

His interest in tinnitus therapy was born from conversations with thousands of tinnitus sufferers in his own practice who struggled to find effective treatments. His vision for Alleviate was to create an online program, accessible to all people with an internet connection, offering treatments, based in science and supported by clinical research, to lessen the distress of tinnitus-sufferers everywhere. When away from the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He loves reading, traveling, cycling, and backpacking.
